Area Information

Just a 5 minute walk from your front door is the Illinois River that offers swimming, fishing and other water sports.

The Illinois Valley has idealic seasons providing summers with 100 degree days and winter with plenty of snow to have fun in.

Spring brings a bounty of wild flowers, mushroom and every shade of green in deciduous and evergreen forests. Fall is equally as colorful as the grasses, grapes and trees transform from greens to the brilliant colors of fall.

Grapes and the world class wine made from them are one of the primary products produced in the Illiniois Valley. Vineyards offer tours, event facilities, wine tasting and the beauty of fields and fields of grapes.

Rare Cobra Plant

This geologically unique area of Oregon offers unique plant species found only in this area which draws botanists and biologist from all around. This carnivorous plant, the Cobra Plant lives along creeks and feasts on insects. The Siskiyou Project works to preserve the areas rivers and diversity. They offer a variety of fun and educational programs.

Beach

Sunsets over crashing waves is only a 1.5 hour drive from Cave Junction. Crescent City, Brookings and Gold Beach are popular locations for locals to go to soak their feet in surf, camp, ride the dunes, surf and purchase fresh seafood including crab, halibut and salmon.

Oregon CavesThe Oregon Caves National Monument is located through Cave Junction. The Oregon Caves Outfitters offer cave tours during the warmer months as well as a gift shop and a historic lodge with 5 star dining. The caves are a great place to take out of town visitors and should be visited by locals on occasion too, just to be reminded of the spectacular gifts nature bestowed on the place they call home.
